Terms of Service
Last updated 5 October 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
Eureka ("Service") is the Eureka browser extension, the Eureka service behind it and the website eureka.legal, provided by [to be filled], [to be filled] ("we"). By accessing and using the Service, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. How we handle personal data is described in the privacy policy.
2. Beta
The Service is in beta. Features may change, be added or be removed, and errors are more likely than in a finished product. While the beta lasts, everything is included free of charge. Before the beta ends, signed-in users will be told in advance which plans apply from then on.
3. Plans and prices
After the beta, the Service is offered in the plans described on the pricing page: Basic and Pro, Pro free of charge for students with a university e-mail address (re-confirmed once a year), and a trial of Pro for new accounts. Prices are those announced on the pricing page when you subscribe. Until a price is announced there, no payment is taken. What each plan includes is described on the pricing page; we may change features and prices for future subscription periods, and we will tell you before a change of price applies to you.
4. Organisations
An organisation (a firm, authority or other employer) can subscribe for its people with a number of seats. Users who sign in with an e-mail address on a domain we have verified for the organisation join it automatically while seats remain and get its plan. The organisation's administrators can invite other addresses and remove members; a removed member keeps a private account. The organisation is billed per seat and is responsible for who it gives access to.
5. Automatic Renewal of Subscriptions
Subscriptions to the Service are automatically renewed at the end of each subscription period unless you cancel your subscription before the renewal date. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge the subscription fee to your chosen payment method at the beginning of each renewal period.
6. AI-generated content and the texts of acts
- Some features are evaluations generated by artificial intelligence (AI), for example translation notices, timeline entries, summaries of what changed and corrigenda verdicts. They are marked as such in the extension. They are aids to reading, they can be wrong, and they are not legal advice. Check them against the act before you rely on them.
- Nothing in the Service is legal advice.
- The texts of acts, definitions and articles are EUR-Lex's, shown as published there. Only the Official Journal of the European Union is authentic.
- EUR-Lex content is reused under Commission Decision 2011/833/EU on the reuse of Commission documents. Source: EUR-Lex, © European Union, https://eur-lex.europa.eu.
7. Acceptable use
You may use the Service for your own work and study. You may not:
- copy the Service's content or AI evaluations in bulk, or access the Service by automated means other than the extension, to build or feed another product;
- share your account or the extension's connection to it with people outside your plan or your organisation's seats;
- try to get around plan limits, security measures or the marks that identify the Service's texts;
- overload, disrupt or attack the Service, or use it for anything unlawful.
8. Best effort
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make best efforts to ensure the Service is available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free availability.
9. Service Availability
While we strive to ensure the Service is available 24/7, there may be occasions when the Service is interrupted for maintenance, upgrades, or due to technical issues beyond our control. We will endeavor to minimize such disruptions but provide no guarantees regarding the availability or uptime of the Service.
10. No Liability
We shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages resulting from the use of or inability to use the Service, including but not limited to damages for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data, or other intangible losses, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
11. Termination
You can stop using the Service at any time: uninstall the extension and delete your account on the account page. A paid subscription runs until the end of the period already paid for. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, after a warning where that is reasonable, and we may end the Service as a whole with reasonable notice.
12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and your use of the Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Denmark. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Denmark.
13. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting the revised Terms on our website. Your continued use of the Service after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
14. Contact Information
